I’m Frank ‘Higwanz’ Higgins, most of you will know me as ‘Higwanz’ but without the slightest reason to how that name came into existence. As you’ve found your way here or you follow my Instagram/ Twitter @higwanz and @higwanz_ldn I thought you have earned the right to know.
Many years ago, when I was growing up in London I had many Jamaican friends in my neighbourhood and they would always greet each other with the word ‘Wagwan’ which translates to ‘Hi, how are you’. As my surname’s Higgins, they changed my name to Higwanz. So, every time they would greet me they would say Wagwanz Higwanz? Since then, the name has stuck with me. The story might be a little silly but to me I feel it adds value to a name that I still use in my everyday life.
